Wonderful countryside awaits! | The Wine Society of India is pleased to offer this special opportunity for members to spend 5 days during early-April harvest time in the famous Margaret River, Western Australia – a beautiful part of the world at the best time of the year! Margaret River is located south of Perth, extending 90km north-south. Today there are over 120 wine producers in this region, many of which are small, boutique vineyards, producing over 35,000 tonnes of wine! Margaret River boasts a large proportion of Australia’s premium wine market – with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz to be the most noted. This regions wines are rated amongst the best by Robert Parker - and yet available at modest prices! |
| Highlights of the trip include personalized visits to some of the best vineyards in the world; Wise Vineyards, Woodlands, Vasse Felix, Xanadu, Cape Mentelle, Cullen and Leeuwin Estate. In addition, stops will be included at a few local attractions such as the beautiful Surfers Point and Karri Forest – where you will enjoy a wine tasting and local music under the stars! There will also be one overnight in Swan District, 25 miles inland from Perth, which is the Western Cape’s oldest wine growing area. You can also look forward to temperatures in early April of 23°C – 28°C maximum with low humidity! Nights can be refreshingly cool at
8°C - 12°C. We are hoping to arrange for us to attend a classical music concert at one of the wineries we visit. The cost for this 5-day package includes:
